waxing hot

waning to chills

numb recognition of World, of Life

the spinout of reality

in the always fog all ways

unknown where known was

how far back to search

to find with certainty

if certainty is a Real Thing

or cruel mad fantasy

hot and cold hot cold hot cold

running from ugliness

from barrenness

with feet of clay

catching tumble weeds

pushing them to be

a resting place where the broken

sink heap upon grotesque heap

believing there is comfort

burrowing deep

unwitting self deception

inured to howling pain

scratched and bleeding

hearing only Why and How

pointless questions

the dark place behind the reflection

does not answer cannot answer

forgets all but sparsest truth

contented with clever lies replayed

relayed displayed in variation

dark lies dark habit self prescribed

posed as pretty nurture security conviction

charlatan thoughts in appealing finery

brain thinking thinks thinking true

when howl rises rises deafening
